With more than 30 years’ experience in private practice in Canada and Georgia, Norman Williams, M.D., joined the staff of Gastroenterology Consultants in 2010. He specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal motility disorders, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), peptic ulcers, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), and colon cancer.

“As a gastroenterologist, I am interested in Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, difficulty in swallowing, poor stomach emptying, colon cancer, abdominal pain and anorectal disorders,” he says. “My primary interest is to improve quality of life for those who suffer from GI disorders.”

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Williams received his medical degree from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Ottawa Civic Hospital in Ontario, Canada, residencies in Internal Medicine at Ottawa Civic Hospital and McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, and fellowships (Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Gastroenterology) at Ottawa Civic Hospital.
