Ahmad W. Cheema, M.D. joined Gastroenterology Consultants in 2003 and has been a practicing gastroenterologist for more than five years. He offers a full range of gastroenterology care and procedures including ERCP/EUS (link to description pages). In April 2011, he was named a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association in recognition of superior professional achievement in clinical private or academic practice and in basic or clinical research. “It is gratifying to be recognized for excellence by the AGA,“ Dr. Cheema says. “This fellowship serves as a sort of ‘Good Housekeeping seal of approval’ for GI physicians, and I am humbled to receive it.”

Dr. Cheema was born in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He is a graduate of King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his internship and residency at Cornell University’s Lincoln Medical Center and a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Loyola University in Maywood, Ill.

Dr. Cheema and his wife are the parents of two children.
